Presentations - Ensure each presentation has an element of 'group participation' at least every 25 minutes. Our brains start to 'shut down' after 25 minutes, meaning we're less likely to take information in.
An effective presentation includes some kind of activity or physical element which helps us re-energize, re-connect with the content or process and lock away what we have already learnt so far.
Interaction - Identify opportunities within your conference where you can ask people to shift and change seats. In order to have participants connect with different people, hear different ideas and perspectives and shift their energy, you can simply have people change where they sit. Key moments include after breaks or whereever you might want to have an 'energy shift'.
Fun - Use short 5 minute fun team activities to energize and connect your delegates. It might be a 5 minute activity at the start of the day, after morning tea, after lunch and after afternoon tea.
Make sure the activities are fun, easy to participate in and interactive.
